Leap for Joy offers dance classes for girl’s ages 7 to 18. Through the joy of dancing students learn creativity, flexibility, and balance. It is a fun way to get some exercise and improve coordination between mind and body, reduce stress, and make new friends. Classes are geared to boost young women’s self-esteem, leadership development, and encourage positive personal development. They learn to believe in themselves and what they can accomplish.
The girls perform a dance in front of other people on an average of about once every 3 months at various locations. Dance classes are held every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month. Classes are 2 hours in length. The first hour and 30 minutes are spent learning various dance styles and a specific dance choreography. The last 30 minutes is spent teaching life skills and basic bible lessons.
MATTHEW 25:36 - I was in prison and you came to me.
As you know that jail, prison, and juvenile detention centers are considered “mission fields”.
Our goal is always:
1. To share the unconditional love of Christ.
2. To share the Gospel in such a way that inmates will embrace it.
3. To lead inmates to experience the life-changing power of God that will free them from guilt, shame, negative emotions, and addictions.
